About the Episode
This week begins with a splash and a paddle as Hayden joins local foodie and WWF trailblazer chef, Kobus van der Merwe, on a kayak along the coast of Paternoster. Hayden then negotiates a charter with some local fishermen, from whom we learn about sustainable fishing. The efforts of the day culminate in a delicious dinner cooked on the rocks with freshly foraged ingredients.
There’s something undeniably enticing about the sweeping, barren beaches and neatly whitewashed holiday homes of Paternoster, which conjure up vivid reminders of the Mediterranean coastline. This quaint and utterly unique little fishing village is known for its sunsets and its seafood, which can be consumed in vast quantities in a variety of renowned eateries dotted throughout the town.
